Jadu promotes Digital by Default and ‘Easy-to-do business’ agile approaches with G-Cloud 3

UK tech firm Jadu focuses on using G-Cloud service and agile software development to build secure solutions for Government transactions.

Jadu became a supplier on the first iteration of the store in February 2012 and one of the early suppliers to contract through the framework with the Weejot.com mobile service, purchased by Suffolk County Council.

"As a successful supplier through G-Cloud iterations 1 and 2, Jadu is excited by the opportunities that are being generated on the Government Cloudstore." Says Richard Friend, Director of Global Business at Jadu. "We're very focused on delivering value for our Central and Local Government customers and committed to the Government Digital by Default agenda. The success of G-Cloud substantiates that the Government is ready to begin doing business with SMEs".

"Millions of pounds have been spent on outsourcing deals with large IT services companies for web solutions that can otherwise be implemented quicker, cheaper and faster by SMEs in the cloud." Says Suraj Kika, CEO of Jadu.

"We're proving that through Jadu's Universe Cloud suite, using agile development to build fit for purpose solutions. G-Cloud has been our number one route to market since it launched last year and it very much fits our business model as an SME."

Procured under G-Cloud 2, Jadu is currently working on the first phase of an exemplar transaction for the Ministry of Justice through its widely adopted Jadu Universe Forms platform. "The speed, flexibility and inventiveness that we can implement secure solutions using agile development is reflected by the speed of procurement through the framework" continued Mr Friend, "we are greatly encouraged by the continued evolution and adoption of the G-Cloud Cloudstore."

Jadu have used the GOV.UK Service Design Manual, developed by the Government Digital Service (GDS) to create the user experience for the service. Paul Stanton, Jadu Engineer responsible for all UX (User Experience) within the Jadu engineering team said "We wanted to design a service that people will appreciate. Efficient, usable and above all consistent with all GOV.UK services. The real art on this project was crafting the usability and experience of the back-end management interfaces. We really focused on making the system as beautiful for users at the MoJ, as it will be for the public."

Jadu has grown globally over the past 2 years, having established its US business, Jadu, Inc. which now powers dozens of significant Higher Education websites across the US. The company is launching its business in Australia later this month.

"Jadu is a great British success story. A tech company growing rapidly and internationally, despite harsh economic conditions", says Mr Friend. "We are really pleased the UK Government has decided to create a 'cloud first' policy. This will stimulate growth not just for technology firms like Jadu, but for all the businesses in the eco-system that support companies like ours."

Jadu is sponsoring the Think G-Cloud event at the Design Business Centre on June the 18th 2013.
