Manchester council website voted as one of Europe’s best in the People’s Lovie Awards

The new Manchester City Council site is now seen as one of the leading Government sites in the World in terms of visual design, interaction design, content and usability.

Jadu’s Spacecraft UX team collaborated with Manchester City Council to deliver one of the most well-received responsive Government websites.

We learned a lot about what goes into creating an exemplary website and what it takes, from both parties, to create something really delightful. This award is testament to how successful this approach is.

The website, launched earlier this year, needed to focus on the key tasks users were trying to accomplish based on website and contact centre analytics and make these tasks easier for users to perform. It also needed to perform exceptionally on a range of devices with varying features, from smartphones to Smart TV’s and many points in between.

The result is a mobile–first, responsive design with all aspects of the site considered in a responsive mindset, everything from the layout to the content to the interactions have been tweaked at varying sizes and feature sets to provide the best possible responsive experience.

The site is designed to guide users through completing these key tasks in the simplest ways possible.

This is a fantastic achievement that gives testimony to the quality and success of the new website. That it has been judged by industry experts as one of Europe’s top government sites, while also being voted for by users of the website, is a huge accolade.

Unsurpassed in its design and functionality, our new look site has become the benchmark of local government websites – making ease of use the main priority for our users in an era when the internet is gearing increasingly towards tablets and smart phones.
