Hartlepool Borough Council and Partners benefit from Jadu Galaxies

Hartlepool Borough Council has removed the constraints of web development costs and training by implementing Jadu Galaxies, a revolutionary Content Management System (CMS) development platform.

Jadu Galaxies enables non-technical users to create and manage multiple enterprise web content management systems. In these initial stages, Jadu Galaxies has helped Hartlepool Borough Council and its partners create three revamped websites in just six weeks.

The websites: Hartlepool NHS Primary Care Trust PCT, Hartlepool Partnership and Housing Hartlepool make it easier for citizens to search for information, such as finding a local GP or dentist, useful telephone numbers or general advice, in just a few clicks. Jadu Galaxies also enables the council and its partners to statistically analyse aspects of the sites, such as traffic and council staff activity.

Jadu Galaxies is so easy to use that managing content of the site can be delegated to specific departments, not just the webmaster, with Hartlepool having 72 employees currently authorised to contribute. This process means that those closest to the job are able to submit the most relevant content specific to their areas.

"We are delighted with Jadu Galaxies. It has completely removed the constraints usually associated with web development,"

comments Paul Diaz, strategy development officer for Hartlepool Borough Council.

"With no HTML experience needed, we have introduced the technology to a number of officers, who now take responsibility for updating various sections of the sites."

"Our old CMS system wasn't very easy to move and manage content, but now we can insert images, create hyperlinks and spell check content. Departments are able to edit their own sections and we find that people generally learn the basics of Jadu Galaxies within an hour - it's that simple."

Hartlepool Borough Council and Northgate Information Systems selected Jadu in October 2005 following a lengthy procurement. The system went live after just eight weeks on March 24th 2006, following successful testing and installation.
