Manchester City Council to implement enterprise content management with Jadu

The UK's 6th most visited Local Authority website – Manchester.gov.uk - is set to be redesigned and developed using the Jadu Content Management System.

Manchester City Council (MCC) has awarded Jadu the contract as part of the wider Manchester Improvement Programme, which supports the global marketing of the City of Manchester. This development marks the beginning of a major content management implementation across the council, driven by the council's strategy to ensure an excellent customer experience through a consistent and coordinated service to the community.

Jadu is well known for its 'Web 2.0' strategy. This enables local authorities and other large organisations to deploy leading edge, non-technical content management technology for publishing internally and externally.

Suraj Kika, CEO of Jadu, has been involved in forging partnerships with many local authorities in the UK: "Manchester is a city of international importance. We are delighted that MCC has chosen Jadu as its publishing technology of choice."

"Given Jadu's success in the recent SOCITM Better Connected report, with five of our partner local authorities now rated as good examples, we are committed to ensuring that people who want to find information and interact on Manchester.gov.uk have the best possible experience," explains Suraj.

Annette Walters, Senior Project Manager for the Manchester Improvement Programme says: "A world class city needs a world class website, focused on improving the quality of services to our residents, which is a fundamental part of our Community Strategy."

The council's existing website is made up of many tens of thousands of pages, much of which will be migrated to the new content management system.

Manchester has selected Jadu CMS with Google Enterprise Search on the Jadu Galaxies platform to enable rapid development of web based information systems.

The new Manchester.gov.uk website will be launched later this year.
