Address prefill

From the address held against the user account

A common use case is prefilling an address lookup question with the selection made in a previous address lookup. A good example of this is collecting a customer's contact and delivery addresses. The customer enters their contact address, and XFP will default the delivery address lookup to match this, to save the customer entering it twice. Of course, should they wish to change it, they can always edit the delivery address lookup.

To configure this on your form, you need two prefills. One is for the postcode, and the other is their property identifier (or UPRN). We set this up as follows:

  1. In your form, click Advanced > Prefills in the top navigation bar (under the the form title).

  2. Click Add Prefill. The create interface will open.

  3. Select the address lookup, postcode element as the question to be prefilled.

  4. Select the User - Postcode as the place to get the prefill value from.

  5. Click Save.

  6. The prefill will be created and added to the list.

  7. Click Add Prefill again.

  8. Select the address lookup, property identifier (or UPRN) element as the question to be prefilled.

  9. Select the User - UPRN as the place to get the prefill value from.

  10. Click Save.

  11. The second prefill will be created. If you now view the form on the website as a signed in user, you will see that the address question is prefilled with the address from that user account. Addresses are prefilled in internal forms if the form is submitted on behalf of a user.

Using ESRI LocatorHub as your address provider?

If you are using ESRI LocatorHub as your address provider you should map the UPRN to the Address Lookup - Property element and not the Address Lookup - UPRN as with other addressing providers. Mapping the User - UPRN to the Address Lookup - UPRN field won't prefill an ESRI Locator Hub address question.
