Jadu, a Netcall Company, is proud to announce that Medway Council has gone live with Agent-Ex: Search, its new AI‑powered website search tool, making Medway the second organisation to launch it.
The new search experience enables residents to find information faster and more easily by typing questions in natural language or using voice search. Agent-Ex: Search can also translate queries into more than 70 languages, helping Medway to better serve its diverse communities and improve accessibility across its website.
The launch forms part of Medway Council’s wider digital transformation programme, Medway 2.0, which focuses on modernising services and improving the online experience for residents.
Cllr Alex Paterson, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder covering Digital Services, said:
“This change forms part of our commitment to modernising the council’s digital services, improving the experience residents have with us online, and making it easier for them to get the information they need.
As a unitary authority, we have lots of services, which means there is a lot of information on our website - and this new search will streamline how quickly people can get hold of the information they’re after. We expect this will also have the added benefit of reducing avoidable calls and emails our hardworking customer service team deal with, meaning they have more time to dedicate to complex queries or to residents who may need additional support.”
Paul Stanton, Head of AI, UX and R&D at Jadu, said:
“Medway Council has been a brilliant partner to work with, and we’re delighted to see them go live with Agent Ex so early on. Being only the second customer to launch this product shows real leadership and ambition in how Medway approaches digital services.
Medway exemplifies how councils can use AI practically and responsibly to improve access to everyday services while reducing pressure on frontline teams. We're excited to see them leading the way in using AI to better connect residents with the information they need.”
Agent-Ex: Search has been developed by Jadu specifically for the public sector. It does not have access to personal data and only uses publicly available content from Medway Council’s website, ensuring a safe and trusted experience for residents.
The launch marks another milestone in Jadu’s mission to help public sector organisations deliver clearer, simpler and more inclusive digital services.
