Lichfield District Council launches Jadu Agent-Ex: Search - AI powered Search Agent for voice controlled, accessible, multilingual web search

Jadu Agent-Ex: Search and Lichfield District Council

Lichfield District Council has signed an agreement with Jadu to deliver Jadu Agent-Ex: Search, the company’s first Agentic AI product under its new Agent-Ex (Agent Experience) platform.

The AI Agent brings accurate, accessible and instant answers to websites and digital services in over 70 languages through voice, text and intent-based search. The Agent-Ex (Agent Experience) platform is a low-code foundation for building intelligent, accessible AI agents across digital services.

Jadu, the leading provider of accessible digital platforms, recently launched Jadu Agent-Ex: Search, a breakthrough in AI-powered search technology, designed to meet the rising demand for mobile-first, voice, multilingual and accessible self-service.

"We’re excited to be among the first councils adopting this new technology", said Simon Fletcher, Chief Executive of Lichfield District Council.

"By introducing AI-driven search, we’ll be able to deliver tailored, accurate answers, making it easier for residents to get the help they need, quickly and efficiently. Our key aim is to ensure those customers who are happy to self-serve can find what they need quickly and remain online, without the need to phone us, leaving us more time to provide tailored support to customers who need extra help. Partnering with Jadu on Agent-Ex: Search is a key step in transforming how we deliver the best service for our district.”

Agent-Ex: Search works directly with any web CMS platform, including Drupal, WordPress and Sitecore, as well as Jadu’s own web CMS ‘Jadu Central’, to deliver real time, content based answers through both text and speech. The product responds to user queries instantly, summarising published content and prioritising key tasks, all without the need for traditional search result pages or chatbots.

“This is the age of agents,” says Suraj Kika, CEO of Jadu.

"Content needs to meet the user where they are, on any device, in any language. That is now the expectation. We want to deliver the ‘Thought Engine’ for large organisations - something that enhances customer experience and self-service to new levels, leveraging everything the new AI era brings.”

With the mainstream adoption of generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude, organisations have seen a shift in user behaviour. Many users now expect instant, conversational experiences, and are becoming increasingly frustrated by traditional search tools that surface long lists of irrelevant links, or chatbots that can be annoying.

“We’ve looked at website search and listened to what our customers have said, and we’ve also looked at the data,” continues Kika.

"Agentic search solves a multitude of issues in the content and task discovery process. Traditional chatbots rarely offer a great experience often leading to customer frustration and a call into the Customer Contact Centre. This has now become critically important as many local authorities will merge over the next few years, requiring a single front door. That’s why we developed Agent-Ex: Search."

Unlike generic AI chatbots that rely on business logic, Agent-Ex: Search is trained directly from a website’s content, delivering accessible, brand-safe responses in compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA and global privacy regulations.

Jadu will showcase Agent-Ex: Search in an upcoming webinar on 10th July 2025. It will also be showcased alongside its wider Agentic roadmap at the Jadu Academy on the 8th July in London. The event will feature live demonstrations, early adopter case studies and a keynote on the future of AI in digital service delivery.

Agent-Ex: Search is available now as a cloud-based subscription product. Organisations interested in the platform can contact Jadu via sales@jadu.net for visit jadu.net/agent-ex.
